Genuine OEM replacement Rocker Cover Gasket used on Lawn and Garden Equipment Engines. This part is sold individually. Over time gaskets may dry out or crack and would develop leaks, especially during cold winter period. Do the bolts come with the cover of the rocker arm cover

Hello Fred, thank you for writing. Using the partial model number supplied 31P777, we find no bolts that come with the cover. We do see a reference to part 100106 Liquid Sealant. This is a special liquid sealant which creates a tight fit between connected components. Refer to the owner's manual or a repair guide to ensure the correct application. Note, this high-quality sealant-liquid is sold as an individual item.

Valve cover gasket leaking oil unto exhaust and front spindle bearings were loose.

1. Remove four bolts on the valve cover.
2. Scrape and clean the old gasket off.
3. Install the new gasket with a slight bit of black RTV to hold in place.
4. Tighten four bolts.

Broken intake push rod

1. Remove last part of the push rod and checked the valve tappet for defects, cleaned old head gasket off and installed the new gasket
2. Set the exhaust and intake valves push rods in place
3. Adjusted the valve clearances to B&S spec's
4. Installed new valve gasket after cleaning off the old valve cover gasket
5. Started the engine with success

Blown head gasket

Removed cowling, spark pug,valve cover, cylinder head.
Replaced head gasket, adjusted valves, set spark gap at 0.030 and reassembled. Then torqued all bolts. Replaced filters and fuel hoses.

Push rod on intake side broke

1. Remove stater rope cover.
2. Remove Overhead value cover.
3. Replaced push rod.
4. Reset lift spring and Gage. Check for placement by turning over engine.
5. Put on new gasket and overhead cover. Easy to do.

Using oil and pushing oil out of dip stick

Inspected the cylinder and the piston and they both checked okay, no scaring.Removed the old piston rings and installed the new piston rings and clocked them correctly. assembled the piston and installed them. I used a universal piston installation tool for installing the piston into the cylinder. Removed the engine sump and replaced the crankcase gasket. Then I removed the rocker cover and replace the gasket. I then installed the new breather tube. I admit it took a while and some help from my mechanic friend, but is done and running like new

cylinder wall was not scared. replace rings cleaned piston. cleaned valve. reassembled. ran like new.

1. Disassembled engine cover components.
2. Removed head.
3. Replace head defective head gasket.
4. Cleaned components.
5. Installed new head gasket.
6. Re-assembled engine and torqued head bolts.

Leaked oil very bad

Remove rocker cover clean oil and old gasket off rocker cover and engine then apply thin coat of blue silicone to both sides of rocker cover gasket apply to rocker cover add thin coat blue silicone the put rocker cover back on engine using 4 mounting bolts taken out to start with.

Hard Starting

We removed the engine from tractor. Removed pan from engine to inspect cam shaft. The compression was ok reinstall. Remove and replace oil seal Remove old pan gasket and replace pan gasket and reinstalled. Taking care to install oil seal on shaft. Remove valve cover and remove and replace both push rods. Reassemble and install back on tractor. Start and check for leaks and operation. Have 28years in small engine repair

Blown head gasket

Removed muffler and carburetor.
Removed valve cover
Removed the 8 cylinder head bolts
Removed bad head gasket.
Check cylinder for scoring and wear
Cleaned head and piston with brass wire wheel
Checked valve guides and seats
Replaced head gasket and intake push rod with steel rod
Installed head and tightened head bolts in 3 passes
Reset valve clearance with feeler gauge
Cleaned valve cover and replaced gasket
Installed valve cover, muffler and carburetor.

Needed three of these gaskets. Had to adjust the valves three times.

Every time I removed the valve cover to adjust the valves I replaced the gasket. I used a gasket sealer also. Every time I removed the cover it would tear the gasket. This is why I ordered three gaskets. My machine is running like a champ. Thanks
