Description:

This replacement part is sourced directly from original manufacturer and it is designed for use with riding lawn mowers/tractors. This mandrel stripper acts as a mounting bracket between your tractor\'s mandrel assembly and mower deck. It also is designed to protect the mandrel housing and bearing from debris and prevent grass from building up on the mandrel housings. This item is made out of metal and it is sold individually. To complete this repair you will need a wrench.

Screwdriver, Socket set, Wrench Set

Needed to replace mandrel, so did both

Removed deck
Removed plastic protector over mandrel, required 3 new screws to remount (do yourself a favor and replace these--the old ones are likely in poor shape (requires a 30mm torx screwdriver to remove)
Removed blades (7/8" wrench required)
Removed mandrels and metric wrenches are required (13mm I think)
Then reversed to install all
Mandrels came with hardened bolts (with steel inserts installed in mandrels) for those bolts

" " " " " " washers for blade
All went easy because of the quality of the parts received

Left blade of the mowing deck hit a rock, bent the blad and cracked the madrel

Not knowing the extend of the damage I order all new parts to build an new housing (Mandrel) complete with shaft bearings and blade. Parts were exactly the same as original and fitted perfectly. Had a little trouble getting the old one off, had to break off the bolts that took some doing, but putting the new one together was a breeze. Thanks for the reasonable pricing.

Center mandrel broke loose from the mower deck.

Removed broken parts, installed new mandrel, installed center blade pully/belt, bolted center mower blade back on, greased center mandrel and began to mow grass again.

The top of the blade drive was defaced causing the blade to not turn.

Took off the blade system cleaned and replaced one baring mount to that the new blade was locked in place. Replaced the belt, cause the one I bought at tractor supply was 1/2 to long and slopped.

Mandrel broke from deck

1. Dropped deck (removed 3 lock pins)
2. Removed existing bolt(s) from broken mandrel
3. Removed pulley and blade from broken mandrel
4. Discard broken mandrel, mount new mandrel using new bolts
5. (Bolts are self-threading) do not tighten too much but make snug
6. Replace pulley
7. Replace blade
8. Replace pins for deck and rethread belt.

Wrong part but very good service

For whatever reason, I got the wrong mandrell - 3 legged vs the 4 required - despite having given the model #, etc. Not sure what happened but new parts were shipped out right away. Got the new parts and darned if they did not send the wrong pulley, saying the manufacturer no longer made the part. That made no sense on the part of the person who packed the order. I was able to find the correct part on Amazon. A refund for that part has already been made. The CSR's were very helpful without hesitation in both of my calls regarding the wrong parts. Packers seem to be the issue as they had my tractor model #, etc.
