This is a Genuine OEM replacement part used on a variety of Riding Mowers and Lawn Tractors. This is the Shaft fits in the Jackshaft Housing and spins the Blade. This is a Metal Shaft which is sold individually. If the mower cutting grass uneven or stepped your shaft may be bent and should be replaced to avoid further damage to the unit.

    Jack-shilf bearings & shaft wore out, the blades were bad, all new parts purchased fit great.

    I used my 2 ton engine lift to raise the lawn tractor mower front end high enough to do the repair job easily. 3 of 5 screws attaching jack-shaft to housing broke. Could not remove the spacer from old main shaft to replace with new shaft. Hardware store for new screws, I had metal tubing on hand to make a new spacer. This old machine is working again.

    Jackshaft bearings came apart, wrecking the other parts used in the repair.

    Removed pulley, wrecked jackshaft housing, splined shaft, spacer, and blade adapter.
    Cleaned all deck surfaces.
    Reassembled jackshaft housing, splined shaft, spacer and blade adapter.
    Installed the assembly on the mower deck, using original mounting bolts.
    Installed pulley on top of assembly, and blade below the deck.
    Threaded the belt through all the pulleys, making sure the tension was good.
    Started up, and began mowing.

    Bad mower deck bearing on Murray riding mower.

    Removed deck from mower.
    Removed flange nut from top of pulley.
    Removed pulley and spacer from jackshaft
    Removed old mower blades..
    Removed bolts holding mandrel housing and pulley guards.
    Bolted on new mandrel housing.
    Inserted new jackshaft and replaced pulley and spacer.
    Greased new bearing in mandrel housing.
    Replaced mower blades and tightened all nuts and bolts.
    Placed deck back onto mower.

    1. Removed the cutting deck from the mower.
    2. Used an impact wrench to dis-assemble and remove the components.
    3. Replaced the upper pulleys, the spindle shafts, the shaft housings (mandrills) and the cutting blades.
    4. Reassembled the components.
    5. Replaced the cutting deck.

    Bad bearings on mower blade spindles. Loud!

    1. Removed mower deck by removing 6 cotter pin shafts
    2. Removed belt, blades, pulleys and then then the 2 spindles by removing the spindle bolts and then then the 10 bolts holding the spindles to deck.
    3. Installed new spindles with 10 new self tapping bolts into aluminum. (Need the new bolts)
    4. Installed blade, pulleys, spindle bolts and belt.
    5. Re-hung deck
    6. Leveled deck and tested. Perfect! And almost silent now. Ereplacementparts seriously saved my day by having every part and the best diagrams on the internet. Thanks for everything. Hope this helps someone!

    Lawn tractor mower deck needed spindles replaced and new belts.

    1. Removed mower deck from tractor.
    2. Removed belt guards from deck and removed belts.
    3. Removed old blades.
    4. Removed all necessary brackets and pulleys to access spindles.
    5. Removed all three spindles.
    6. Cleaned mower deck, bead blasted rust from deck, primered and painted deck.
    7. Installed new parts in spindles and installed spindles in mower deck, lubed spindles with synthetic grease through grease zerts on spindles.
    8. Reattached all brackets and installed new blades.
    9. Reinstalled pulleys and new belts.
    10. Reinstalled belt guards and reconnected mower deck to lawn tractor.
    11. Adjusted and leveled mower deck to factory specs.

    Hub(jackshaft) & spindle (shaft)broke

    Remove the deck from the mower
    Remove the the upper jack shaft nut and pulley
    Unbolted old broken hub(jackshaft housing) & blade
    I replaced bolts hub (jackshaft)& (shaft)spindle
    Reinstalled blade & belt
    Note: The jackshaft housing is not threaded but the bolts are self tapping

    Mower has two blades, so I used other side as reference
