Product Description ?

It is a genuine OEM sourced part is specially designed for riding lawn mowers and garden tractors. The solenoid acts like an electromagnetic switch, it engages and routes the battery electrical supply to the engine starter when the ignition switch is rotated to the start position. Easy repair
Part was easy to repair and replace. Works fine. However, mower is still hard to start sometimes so a routine must occur with changing gears, pulling out choke many times etc so it could be loose wires. Hoping to get through cutting season.

Ordered new solenoid. Replaced solenoid after first taking photographs of the solenoid in place.

Started replacing wires, but the wires wouldn't reach when the solenoid was being put in place. Looked at photographs and found I had turned the solenoid upside down. Took wires off, turned solenoid 180 and replaced wires according to photos No problems after that. Motor fired first try and ran well.
Take a photo, or make a rough drawing of wire placement BEFORE taking it apart. Simple but effective! I took digital photos from top and side view from opposite side of installed solenoid. Cel phone photos will work. Stops scratching your head trying to remember which wire went where!

Disconnect 2 red wires and unplug 2 smaller wires. Use 3 /8 wrench or socket and remove solenoid. Install new solenoid and connect wires just as you took them off at. Drawing a diagram or taking a picture before you start may help. If I can do it - you can.

After installing all the safety switches and still nothing, I noticed that the voltage meter wasn't moving when I turned the key so I reached my hand back to wiggle the wires and it cranked right up. I guess it had grounded the mower.
