Product Description ?

This is an authentic replacement part manufactured for use with Ridgid 1/4 sheet sanders. The dust shield is used to prevent sanding dust from entering the motor, but allows air to pass to cool the motor. This dust shield is sold as an individual replacement part, please see model diagram for associative parts.

Disassemble completely the sander, clean, remove the old and damaged parts. Mount the new ones. Assemble and test the tool.

Bearing for sanding pad disentigrated.

1. Removed 4 screws holding sanding pad to base.
2. Removed old parts.
3. Installed new collar, bearing and dust seal.
4. Reinstalled sanding pad making sure to align pad to base.
5. Installed & tightened the 4 screws.
6. Plugged in sander and tested it's operation.
7. It worked fine, Job complete.

Bearing failure

Remove 4 screws from the old pad and platen and remove. Remove the worn bearing and collar from the fan. Install new collar and bearing, replaced the dust shield. Then installed the new platen and pad.
