This item is sourced directly from the original equipment manufacturer. It is specially designed for use with Husqvarna riding lawn mowers. The idler pulley helps to apply tension on the belt. Over time it may wear out or get damaged eventually requiring a replacement. It includes one durable plastic pulley with a metal ball bearing. Check the diagrams of your model for the exact location and the correct installation of this part. You will need a wrench to remove and secure the hardware that holds the idler pulley.

    1. Removed all wheels.
    2. Removed all plastic covers and housings for access to drive components.
    3. Cleaned 5 pounds of mud/grass from inside front drive upper and lower covers.
    4. Ground heavy rust from drive surfaces of front transmission pulley.
    5. Replaced idler pulley which had a frozen bearing and belt burn damage.
    6. Replaced belt.
    7. Lubricated wheels, transmission axle bearings, and height adjusters.
    8. Sharpened blade.
    9. Reassembled and replaced the badly worn front left the wheel.
    10. Adjusted drive control cable.

    1) Remove the front plasticcover from the top of the mower deck & the bottom plastic cover from under the deck
    2)I Removed the old belt using a screw driver, then installed the new belt.
    3)After I installed the belt, I removed the damaged pulley from the center of the drive mechanism under the deck, and replaced it.
    4)Reassembled the mower and tested successfully

    1. Followed the instructions and repair hints from previous customers. Very useful.
    2. Used a large screw driver and leaf blower to remove accumulated grass particles.
    3. The belt part xxx609 fit perfectly.
    4. I decided that the idler wheel needed replacement. Ordered it and a new tension spring. on a separate order. All orders arrived quickly.
    5. Fun project for kids and grandkids to help.

    Removed and replaced pulleys, drive belt and controller. Still having a problem with reinstall of brake reset spring. Have searched high and low for diagram, instructions, video, etc. to show how to reinstall the spring. Absolutely nothing for my model relating to reinstallation of the brake reset spring. Dozens of videos for most any other repair.
