This is an authentic item which is supplied by the original manufacturer for Shimano fishing reels. It is the special spacer that is utilized to provide a tight seal between the cast control mechanism components. Over time the material may wear out and begin to crack eventually requiring a replacement. Note, this item is made of a durable material and is sold as an individual component. Check the diagrams of your model for the exact location and the correct installation of this cast control spacer. You will need a screwdriver to take the reel apart when performing this repair.
This reel wasn\'t taken care of and parts were robbed from it to fix another reel. It was given to me so figured I would play around with it and try to fix it.
