This is a genuine OEM approved replacement part designed for use with Shimano reels. It helps to secure the bearing in a reel. It is made out of metal and it is sold individually. To complete this repair you would need a screwdriver and pliers.
I first took real apart laying it out as it came apart in order cleaned all parts that I planned to
reuse then started putting it back together once back together tested all worked well. I now
have a old reel that works like new at a fraction of a new one

This reel wasn\'t taken care of and parts were robbed from it to fix another reel. It was given to me so figured I would play around with it and try to fix it.

Replaced parts with new parts ordered.
Reel had been used in salt water and had a great deal of corrosion.
