Product Description ?

This replacement solenoid-starter is an authentic OEM component. It is specially designed for Briggs and Stratton engines commonly installed on generators and some other lawn and garden equipment. The solenoid transfers the electrical current from the battery to the starter. Unfortunately, over time it may wear out and develop electrical or mechanical issues eventually requiring a replacement to ensure your equipment runs properly. Note, it is a high-quality item and is sold as an individual component. You will need a wrench set to disconnect and remove the old solenoid-starter when performing this repair.

    1. First removed starter to verify if it was working properly. Found that starter was working properly on a work bench.when 12 volt battery was attached to electrical posts.
    2. Verified that battery was operating properly using a volt meter.
    3. Removed Starter-Solenoid from holding bracket located under fuel tank. A very hard job since there is very little space to uninstall retaining bolts. That took almost 30 minutes.
    4. Did not know how to verify if Starter-Solenoid was working so I just procured a new Starter-Solenoid.
    5. Installed new Starter-Solenoid in different location for easy replacement in the future.
    6. Tried starting generator with electric starter and found it worked perfectly. Took about twenty minutes to reinstall. Had to to go on line on E-replacement website and get a copy of the starter diagram to assure that I was attaching all the wires properly.
