Question: Pump

ttoone

should I replace the pump on my 3k homelite pressure washer? It blew up yesterday while cleaning a house. It seems like the motor is fine but, if I spend $120 on a pump and it doesn't work I could of just bought a new one for $300. lol...What u think its my first pressure washer and I clean about once a week. Thanks Tim

Hello ttoone,

I don't know how long you have had your pressure washer. If you do put in the new 309515003 Pump. It will be like a new washer. On the other hand for as how often you use it, you might want to invest the $120.00 in a heavier duty Pressure Washer.

Before I pan out money for a new pump first disconnect the pressure hose (not the water line) and run it without the sprayer on it. If it doesn't bog down, connect the hose without the spray gun. If it still runs good, check the nozzle for clogs. If it doesn't work any better witht hose disconnected, check and clean the carb before forking money over for a pump. Does this pump have a rebuild kit?

Question: Ridgid Pump

Anointedrj

Not sure of model number, manual says RD80746/80947... cannot read tag on motor.

Will this pump fit my washer?

Are bolts, and crack-key provided?

Do I need to include relief valve?

Hello Anointedrj,

If your Pressure Washer is a model number RD80746 or RD80947. The pump, part number 309515003 is the one to use. As I remember the 678169004 Thermal Release Valve and the 660739002 Bolts are not included with the pump.

Question: Pressure Washer Pump Adjustment

rwolcott

I want to reduce the output pressure on my model 309515003 pump. There is a spring-loaded bolt and nut locknut fitting next to the unloader. The bolt portion has a socket for a hex wrench. Is this the pressure regulater? If so, exactly how can I adjust it to reduce the output pressure (what part should I turn, and clockwise or CCW, as I face the exposed end)?

Question: Ridgid Pressure Washer Model RD8...

Will the old obsolete pump 30959001 Thermal Relief Valve 678169002 fit the new 30959003 Pump that calls for 678169004 Thermal Relief Valve. Also will the TRV Spout 518470001 fit both TRV Valves? These need to be special ordered directly from Ridgid and take 1-2 weeks. Need to get up and running as one of the plugs blew out the bottom of the pump as happened to other people, and now I have to buy a new pump!

WJA

Hello Davelakeside1,

The thermal relief valve part number 678169002 has been replace by the part number 678169004. As for the old style thermal relief valve being used on the new 309515003 pump. I cannot tell you if it can be used on it. If you are ordering a a new pump you should also get the new style thermal relief valve. The part number 518470001 TRV spout has not changed, it can be used on both.

Question: Pump For Ridgid Washer RD80746

ljpalte

Photo of replacement pump shows water connections coming out the left side of pump. Mine come out right side as in manufacturer's diagram. Is photo backwards or can pump be mounted either direction? Also is a thermal relief valve included with pump or must it be ordered separately?

WJA

Hello ljpalte,

The picture of the 309515003 pump assembly may have been reversed in our image processing. But if you have a Ridgid RD80746 pressure washer, that is the pump for it. Regarding the question on the 678169004 thermal release valve. It is not included with the pump, it would have to be ordered individually.

Question: Fitting Opposite The Water Inlet

kdsell2003

Looking at the photo, there is an inside-threaded fitting directly opposite the water inlet fitting. What connects there? The pump already comes with a thermal relief valve and pressure relief valve, so it's not that...

Hello kdsell2003,

By looking at the parts diagram the part that threads in opposite the water inlet fitting is the item number 35, part number 678169004 thermal release valve.

Question: PUMP NUTS

The nuts I need go under the Gold Part or Brass section of Pump. They are 3 of them in a row about 1/" apart in a straight line .Thank you again

WJA

Hello Jerzeyjoe,

It looks like the manufacture does not supply parts for the pump, even down to the nuts and bolts. If possible go to local nut and bolt supplier in your area to see if they can help you. Your only other option I can see is getting a new 309515003 pump.

Your local repair shop might have the bolts or you could look for them at a hardware store.

Hi msword,

It is unfortunate but Ridgid does not offer pump parts for most of their pressure washers. They only offer the pump as a complete assembly.

Thanks,
