Will this work on my RYOBI GCV190 pressure washer.
WAYNE VAUDRIN for model number GCV190 asked on 2019-05-25
Hi Wayne, its appears you gave us the model of your engine not of the pressure washer its self. The pressure washer will have a separate model number. For Ryobi pressure washers the model number should start with the letters RY. Once you have the model information you can cross reference by looking under the compatibility information on this part. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair!

Amos Anderson for model number GCV 160 (Homelite 2700 PSI/2.3 GPM asked on 2019-07-17
Hello Amos thanks for writing. Have you tried to clean or change the carburetor ? Let us know
Starts for a second and shuts off have to wait five minutes and do it again and it does the same thing
Maximo salgado for model number RY80030A asked on 2019-07-08
Hello Maximo, thank you for your question. There are a few parts that could be causing this issue. The carburetor may be dirty, or malfunctioning. Over time, some of the ingredients in the fuel may evaporate, leaving behind a thicker, stickier substance. This sticky fuel can clog up the carburetor and cause the engine to run stall. If the carburetor is clogged, try cleaning it with carburetor cleaner. If cleaning the carburetor isn?t effective, rebuild or replace the entire carburetor. The fuel filter, air filter, and spark arrestor should also be checked as well. Over time, the spark arrestor can become clogged with soot. If the spark arrestor is clogged, the engine may stall. To unclog the spark arrestor, remove it and clean it with a wire brush. You may also replace the spark arrestor if needed. I hope this helps!

Hi, as soon as i start my washer, water shoots out the side of pump...I have not even touched the handle yet.....it's coming out a very small hole on side of pump...did I lose something, looks like I may have broke off something....thanks.
gary moats for model number BM80913 asked on 2019-09-20
Hello Gary, thank you for writing. This could be due to a missing or faulty Thermal Relief Valve, this part number 678169004 for your model. You may also want to consider the Outlet Tube part number 308862003, or the Pump itself, part number 308653036. I hope this helps and good luck with your repair!
Have a ryobi pressure washer wondered if the thermal release valve was suppose to have a spring inside it because the one that broke did?
Missy asked on 2019-09-16
Hello Missy, thank you for writing. We would be happy to look into this, but we will need the model number for your pressure washer to do so. We look forward to hearing back from you!
I see a previous answer that reads the spring does not come with the thermal relief valve. My valve broke off and I've ordered a new one from you. However I do not see that spring in your diagram? My old one has one. Do I need it or not? Thank you,
Andrew for model number WF80710 asked on 2019-09-09
Hello Andrew, Thank you for the question. The spring is only sold as part of the Pump, Part Number: 308653093. Hope this helps!

Broken Thermal Relief Valve
This part is aluminum and if it's broken in moving, you will need a torch to heat up the housing to melt the thread sealant and a easy out is a must if the valve is broken at the housing.

There was no pressure to my gun
I watched your you tube video and replaced the pump. They instructed perfectly! I was glad I bought the thermal relief valve as my model didn't have one and wasn't sure where it went as per the diagram. The new pump required one. I fired it up and it works like new.

Relief valve was missing when I tried to use the machine
Online parts diagram showed where pressure relief valve was supposed to go. With it missing, it was obvious why about half of the water was spraying out the threaded hole anytime water was turned on.
Screwed in new valve and all works fine now!

Pump wasn't working.
1. Disconnect spark plug. Removed the three bolts that connected the pump to the drive shaft at the bottom of the pressure washer. Disconnect soap tube.
2. Slid the old pump off.
3. Screwed the new thermal relief valve onto the pump (make sure to use a sealant on the valve before screwing it in.
4. Line the drive up with the new pump and ensure it lines up and fits in correctly.
5. Replace three bolts and tighten.
I didn't, but if you have soap in the dispenser, you need to clip the hose disconnect.

  • Replacing what was left of the thermal relief valve.
Not really knowing what part I needed the representative was able to identify what I needed. The valve was completely gone and only a hole was left. The installation information provided really send me in the right direction. The key was the easy out and heat the area. One minute and out it came. I will keep eReplacement Parts in mind for the future. Thanks

    No problem repair.
The valve arrived fairly quickly. All you have to do is unscrew the old valve and replace with the new one. However, that didn't solve my problem as I had hoped. Had to order the pump.
