Tilting the mower backwards, accessing the mower blade.
Brace the blade so it does not move. Using a socket wrench loosen the not holding the blade.
Once the blade was off. place the now blade the same way the old blad came off making sure the blade is tight.

To replace athe air filter- Unscrew the two top screws holding down the filter cover.

Craftsman (Briggs & Stratton engine) tow-behind tiller had sat for years. Unseized pistons with PB Blaster. Replaced carburetor, oil, gear reduction oil, spark plug, and air filter. Took a few pulls of starter cord, but started right up.

Replaced the air filter as I do annually. Simple maintenance! The primer bulb was cracked after 12 years of use and making starting/restarting difficult, and replaced it. Had to remove the bulb housing assembly from carb to make the repair. Piece of cake. Wing knob was worn from the rope rubbing on it, my fault for not noticing. Easy replacement!

.Belt guard deteriorated and rusted,...drive pulley encrusted with debris, causing belt to slip off. Drive would not engage, engine surging, hard to start

Self propel drive system failing,..belt guard deteriorated and rusted,...drive pulley encrusted with debris, causing belt to slip off. That issue caused me to think drive cable was faulty. Not true, I now have spare. Engine surging, and air filter in poor condition. Actually I adjusted the gov. spring and issue continued. Found governor at engine attachment point under engine housing very dirty and gummy preventing smooth operation,..cleaned with parts cleaner and inspected entire area,... reassembled and surge problem was gone without filter and foam replacement. Filter and foam replaced anyway. Kept old filter and foam after detail cleaning for spares. Replaced belt guard after complete cleaning. Drive system now operating as advertised. Additional and routine cleaning of enclosed belt housing will be necessary due to age and overall condition of mower deck blade area. Ordered parts I thought were needed prior to detailed troubleshooting as indicated here. Will continue to used old parts and now new spares are an immediate backup.
Very happy with parts availability for 16 year old walk behind, RWD , self propelled mower.
