Product Description ?

This is an authentic replacement field which is supplied by the original manufacturer for use with Bosch power tools. In conjunction with an armature, it is what drives the unit. A field is usually damaged by overloading the power tool, or because of a bad armature. It is highly recommended to replace both carbon brushes when replacing a field. This high-quality component is sold individually.

1.remove 3 screws holding the handle cover, take a pic of wire routing and connections.
2.remove switch and power cord, can leave the cord connected. Remove green wire, black and white wires.
3.pull back brush springs and hook them on brush holder to relieve tension on brushes, unplug brushes and pull the brush holder strait off the armature.
4.remove 3 screws holding drill gearbox and remove gear box pay attention to spring and any washers that may be stuck on with grease.
5.remove the armature from the gearbox, press the armature shaft with a press or use a brass punch after supporting the gearbox on blocks of wood and tap out.
6.Press or tap (brass punch) the armature into the gearbox until it fully seated.
7. install the gearbox/armature into the drill housing paying attention to the gasket, spring and any washers and tighten the 3 screws while turning the chuck making sure its not overly hard to rotate. Mine was hard to rotate, so I removed the armature and measured the distance from the bearing face(commutator end)to the end of the shaft and adjusted the new one to match the distance on the old commutator. Mine was less so I carefully taped and measured until they matched. Then I reinstalled and the
the gearbox while turning the drill chuck, the resistance was good so I fully tightened them.
