Product Description ?

This part includes one OEM adapter module for use in hammer drills and rotary hammers. This part is located under the field and plugs into a copper contact under the reverse mechanism. If the adapter has burnt out, unplug the drill, remove the cover, brush assembly, contact rings, torx screws on the front of the drill, armature, commutator assembly, winding, old adapter module, and reassemble the tool. While the tool is disassembled this is also the perfect time to inspect all the components for signs of wear and tear.

read on your site that the Bosch adapter module & switch contact parts were the ones that went bad--instead of the $38 trigger. Turns out that there are 2 switch contacts AND 2 adapter modules needed (i only bought one of pair of each - my bad for not studying the exploded view more closely). Took the drill apart & visually inspected the old switch contacts. Could not find any fault with them. So I tossed the drill & ate the cost of buying the module & switch contact. Bought a DeWalt hammer drill & completed my project.

    DISCONNECT FROM ELECTRICAL POWER!
remove 3 star drive screws from handle.
Remove handle cover and photograph wire connections.
Disconnect wires and remove power cord.
With small screwdriver or dental pick lift brush holder springs and push to one side to relieve pressure on brushes then slide brushes back in slots.
Turn brush holder to center then lift it off the commutator.
Gently pry contact rings from connections.
At this point one of my rings came off with brass connector still attached so complete disassembly of drill was necessary to find the broken part.
Remove 3 star type screws from front of drill and separate metal gear case from plastic drill housing. Don't lose any gears or washers.
    Remove plastic dust shield.
    Remove armature from drill.
Remove 4 Phillips screws holding stator coils and slide out spring clip. Silicone spray may help.
Remove stator coils from drill housing.
Inspect adaptor terminals. One of mine broke off and came out with contact ring.
Gently pry adapter off stator without bending leads. I always coat contacts with a thin layer of silicone grease to prevent corrosion.
Press new adapter(s) onto stator and reassemble drill. There is usually excess grease in the case to coat the gears during reassembly.
Since brush holder and contact rings are already out there is no easier time to replace them.

1.remove 3 screws holding the handle cover, take a pic of wire routing and connections.
2.remove switch and power cord, can leave the cord connected. Remove green wire, black and white wires.
3.pull back brush springs and hook them on brush holder to relieve tension on brushes, unplug brushes and pull the brush holder strait off the armature.
4.remove 3 screws holding drill gearbox and remove gear box pay attention to spring and any washers that may be stuck on with grease.
5.remove the armature from the gearbox, press the armature shaft with a press or use a brass punch after supporting the gearbox on blocks of wood and tap out.
6.Press or tap (brass punch) the armature into the gearbox until it fully seated.
    7. install the gearbox/armature into the drill housing paying attention to the gasket, spring and any washers and tighten the 3 screws while turning the chuck making sure its not overly hard to rotate. Mine was hard to rotate, so I removed the armature and measured the distance from the bearing face(commutator end)to the end of the shaft and adjusted the new one to match the distance on the old commutator. Mine was less so I carefully taped and measured until they matched. Then I reinstalled and the
the gearbox while turning the drill chuck, the resistance was good so I fully tightened them.
