This is a extensive repair that required the removal of hood, battery, disconnect wiring, removal of steering assembly. Care should be taken to know where bolts are located for proper replacement, mark where wires are attached on dash and don't get in a hurry.

My machine is old and there was a lot of play in the steering wheel. I needed to replace worn parts.

Ross - May 10, 2020
1. Had to remove the mower deck
2. Disassemble the steering column.
3. Once disassembly was completed, the rest was straight forward. It wasn't all rusted fast. Things came apart easily.

Already had all steering parts for steering wheel & shaft removed from tractor
1. Replaced Babbitt flange bearing in support bracket.
2 Installed new sector gear with new bushings and old thrust washers into support bracket
3.Installed support bracket into tractor (most difficult part)
4. Installed exist shaft through support bracket bearing with new bushings & exist thrust washers through to upper support. Aligned gears to center position and secured shaft with new ring clip (not easy either).
5. Attached existing drag link to gear and safety switch to bracket.
6. Mounted exist steering wheel to shaft and tested steering.
NOTE: All parts mounted perfectly EXCEPT I had to chase the threads of the new sector gear to remove paint overflow.
