Be sure to clean everything thoroughly and apply silicon grease to all threaded surfaces. Be sure to remove any buildup of scale where the cartridge gasket contacts the faucet. Make sure NOT to leave any scratches in the brass. Apply a thin film of silicone grease on the gasket and insert the new cartridge aligning the two locators in the brass body.
Replace the lock down nut and tighten snugly. DO NOT over tighten. Turn on the water and check for leaks. Be sure to remove the aireator when you test the faucet or it could get clogged. Run the water for a minute or two going back and forth between hot and cold. If all is well, reinstall the decorative collar and handle. Your done.
