1. Removed starter pulley and spring along with rope.
2. Installed new spring and holder
3. Applied lithium grease to shaft before installing rope pulley
4. Installed pulley and rewound tension on spring
5. Reassembled string trimmer

The Starter handle for the pull cord broke
Tie a temporary knot in the starter rope so it doesn't recoil back into the starter. Untie or cut the knot at the handle. Thread the rope through the new starter handle. Tie a knot and pull the knot firmly into the handle. Untie the temporary knot you tied in the starter rope.
