Product Description ?

The metal return spring attaches to the protective cover and helps it to return to the original position. It is an authentic OEM sourced part which is specially designed for use with Hitachi miter saws. This part is available as an individual replacement part. The spring is a small part and will need to be replaced if it becomes lost or if it breaks. A screwdriver and a set of pliers may be needed when replacing this spring.

    Remove the blade for ease of access, secure the spring to guard and saw housing, reinstall blade. Simple.

    Safety shield and insert broke after a kickback

    1. Took off molded casings with screwdriver
    2. Removed remaining portion of shield
    3. Placed new spring and shield in place
    4. Tested movement
    5. Put moldings back on
    6. Replaced inserts (screws on/off)

    Blade guard would not return properly.

    Screwdriver, Adjustable Wrench

    1. Unplugged the saw.
    2. Removed the cover over the blade nut.
    3. Removed the blade.
    4. Removed 2 screws holding on the guard.
    5. Inserted the spring in the housing and on the guard.
    6. Placed the guard in place.
    7. Replaced 2 screws holding the guard.
    8. Put the blade on the saw and tightened the bolt.
    9. Replaced the cover over the blade bolt.
