Rear wheel fell off.

First I removed the shoulder bolt with the impact wrench. Then removed the wheel. Removed the clip ring, then the thrust washer. I then removed the pinion gear just by pulling it off. Replace the old thrust washer, clip ring, and thrust washer. To assemble just reverse the order of the tear down.

Rear wheel drive pinion and gear on the wheel kept skipping.

Socket set, Wrench set
Removed the wheel and the pinion and bearing housing. Pressed the new bearing into the new bearing housing and then then pressed in the fiber sleeve into the bearing housing. Install the new bearing housing into the wheel bracket. Installed the pinion spacer washer and then the pinon gear. and installed the snap ring retainer.
Insta lled new wheel and axle bolt with the new spacer washer. Note: I had just installed a new pinion gear a few days before.
Works ok so far. No pinion gear jumping on the wheel gear. Suspect the bearing and the fiber sleeve for the drive shaft from the transmission was worn causing the skipping problem on my Toro personal pace mower.

Drive wheels sloppy causing premature drive & pinion gear wear

The original bearings were totally worn out, the plastic sleeves were gone completely, the rear wheels were moving around and causing the gears inside the wheel to misalign and grind and wear out quick. I replaced the bearings and bushings to get rid of the slop, the bearing retainer just made the job easier so I could replace the assembl y and did not have to remove the old bearing. It goes together just like the parts drawings on the website. I had already replaced the wheels/drive gears and pinion gears prior and that did not solve my problem. Mower is 9 years old and now nice and smooth just like new for around $45 (I have to give youtube a little credit)

While i was replacing the right wheel and assembly i decided it was best to replace the left wheel also. unscrewed the bolt that acts as an axle saving the cog that drives the wheel Replaced the wheels with original cogs and inserted and tightened the new bolts (axles).
The schematics available on this site helped me determine exac tly what parts I needed. They arrived within a week.
