Drive gear was stripped

Remove the bolt holding the wheel, pull the wheel off. There is a retaining ring hold the pinion gear to the shaft, remove it. The pinion gear will pull right off. Install retaining ring, then the wheel and bolt. Finished.

Self propel on one wheel was not working. Making grinding noise.

1. Removed hubcap from the wheel.
2. Removed bolt from the center of the wheel.
3. Removed wheel.
4. Removed c clip from the drive shaft.
5. Removed drive gear from the drive shaft.
6. Replace drive gear with the new part.
7. Installed c clip.
8. Replaced wheel.
9. Installed bolt in center of wheel.
10. Installed the hub cap on the wheel.

Rear wheel drive didn\'t work

Took the rear wheels off and replaced the gear pinion, there was a spacer on the axle that need to be pushed in, it is working right now.

well drive gears were worn out

Removed drive wheels, removed snap ring and old gears. Reassembled with new gears and snap rings. Reattached wheels replacing with new stepped washers. Make sure that transmission shafts are free of any extraneous material. The shafts should drive the gear completely into the drive wheels.

1. Remove rear drive wheel.
2. Remove lock ring on pinion gear.
3. Remove pinion gear.
4. Reassemble in reverse procedures.

Drive wheels, gears and belt worn. Personal pace handle torsion spring also needed replacement.

Replacement of the drive wheels and gears was straight forward. Replacement of the drive belt. was a bit more complex, watched a youtube video first. Replacing the torsion spring on the personal pace drive handle also required watching a youtube video.

BLOCKED UP MOWER, TOOK REAR WHEEL OFF, LOCATED PINION GEAR ON AXEL SHAFT SPRAYED PENETRATING OIL ON PINION GEAR BECAUSE IT WAS RUSTED ON AFTER YEARS OF USE. PENETING OIL DID NOT WORK. USED MY CORDLESS DREMEL TOOL WITH A ABRAISIVE BLADE TO CUT IT OFF.

Removed rear drive wheels (removed axle bolts) and pinion gear (by removing snap ring)
replaced with new parts. This was an easy remove and replace old parts with new. I will now have to delay my purchase of a new mower for several more seasons.
