If the battery was recently charged and the drill is running slowly your motor may have a defective trigger, worn brushes, or the battery may not be charging properly. If the battery is not charging properly you will need to check the battery and the charger to if they are functioning correctly.     Removed the outer housing. Separated the motor from the gears. With a soldering station heated solder on leads on motor,and simply pulled wires out. Soldered leads to new motor, reassembled. . When you remove the motor from the gearbox, be sure that the chuck end is facing down. If you don't, the gears will fall out.

    Removed the screws from the housing
    Carefully remove the motor from the gear assembly
    Used a soldering gun to remove the wire leads
    Soldered the wires to the new motor
    Placed the motor in the housing and into the gear assembly
    Made sure all of the parts were all lined up
    Screwed the housings back together

    Removed case from drill. Had voltage going to the motor but motor not rotating. Replaced motor assembly by removing wires to motor(solder iron). Soldered wires on new motor and reassembled unit.The drill is functioning as it should.Heat shrink tubing supplied with new part.

    Motor got too hot and locked up

    Removed the T15 screws and split the drill in half. Removed old motor and replaced with new motor. Put the two halves back together and it works like a new one!

    took the screws out unscrewed the motor re soldered the wires lined op all the parts and put the two halves back together put in the screws put in a battery and it worked fine

    I took the dewalt drill apart and found out the motor was shut.
    I ordered the part from replacement. Com. It came in pretty fast. Great job.
    I replaced the motor to the drill and all the other parts needed.
    It was not hard with this drill.

    1. Removed battery from tool.
    2. Removed all torx screws on cover.
    3. Removed cover.
    4. Desolder the power wire from motor (red for positive and black for negative).
    5. Gently remove motor.
    6. Put the new motor.
    7. Soldered power wire (red to red, black to black).
    8. Put all together.
