Product Description ?

It is an authentic item that is designed for use with Husqvarna, Poulan and Weed Eater riding lawn mowers and garden tractors. This is the left-hand draglink that connects to the spindle and the gear-selector plate allowing the user to steer the mower. If the part is damaged or is missing, this authentic item will provide an identical replacement. Refer to the diagrams of your model for the exact location and the correct installation of the new part. To perform this repair you will need a set of wrenches. Keep in mind, the hardware to secure it and the left-hand draglink is sold separately.

    Correct part, etc. Would be nice when it replaces a previous version, recommend the new updated parts. For this piece, you need the updated nut fastener (older model is threaded different). I use this site because they are one of the few with clear diagrams of the equipment I'm working on

    The serial number on my Husqvarna Lawn tractor is 954140108. Is the Part #597047802 the replacement part I need. The drag link pivot ball fell out of the drag link. Is this considered the left drag link since it is on the left side? Thanks

    Using a socket and a wrench removed the drag links and installed the replacement drag links.Need to save the nuts because the replacement drag links do not come with nuts.

    Socket set, Wrench Set, Adjustable Wrench, 2 Ton hoist (jack)

    1) Using a standard floor hoist (jack), raise the front end of riding mower high enough to allow room for socket wrench to remove linkage nuts.
    2) Using socket wrench and open end wrench; loosen and remove old linkage nuts and old lock washers. Tap on old drag linkage bar with rubber hammer and remove bar.
    3) Insert new drag linkage bar.
    4) Place new lock washers and finger tighten nuts on both ends of new linkage bar. Using socket wrench and open end wrench, tighten both nuts securely.
    5) Lower front end of riding mower using the floor hoist (jack).

    Remove the nut and washer from the LH spindle assembly and the left nut and washer from the left side of the sector plate gear. Reverse order to assemble the new drag link. Save the nuts and washers, they are not included with the part.

    Removed lower steering sector gear.
    Removed and replaced both RH and LH drag links.
    Reinstalled steering sector gear.

    It was difficult accessing 1" nut on upper end of shoulder bolt securing sector gear. Poor access inside frame.

    Disconnected the broken part & replaced with new part. Replaced both right & left draglinks even though only one was broken... They were pretty tight but finally got them off.

    removed tires, old wheel spindles, and old drive shafts(links), then replaced with new parts. it now steers like new. excelent replacement parts.

    Drag link connection broke from the back of the front wheel spindle

    It was pretty simple. The dragon link arms only had 1 nut on either end but the trickiest part was to make sure you did not damage the rubber axle cover in the center of the wheel. I had to pry it from the back side to keep from damaging it then to put it back on I had to heated up so it would stretch and then snap back in to place, then form back to the washer. This is important to keep dirt dust and some water out of the grease around the axle.
