This is exactly what I needed.
I love the fact after searching many other sites Ereplacement had my part and it was easy to find. One of the gaskets has a crease in it due to shipping. I cannot daily Ereplacement for that as it appeared to be an issue with the mail. I rebuilt the motor and the gasket kit I ordered was a flawless fit.

Take your time, keep track of hardware and where everything goes. Remove blower cover, air cleaner, unbolt carburetor but leave connected. Remove exhaust bolts I sprayed mine with penetrating oil the night before and ran the engine till it heated up. Removed valve cover bolts and cover, Remove and discard head bolts remember the one closest to exhaust port has washer on it. Remove valve rockers, and push rods label them. Remove head and gasket. Clean everything up and put back together in reverse. Kohler was smart by providing instructions on how to install everything. Adjusting the valve lash was a pain but got it done key is loosen nut a little and adjust torx screw to set lash. Repair was easy for me I have small and automotive engine experience.

The engine leaked oil from the overhead valve cover gasket failure and the leaking oil caught fire and melted all the plastic parts

    Frederick - May 1, 2018
I removed all melted plastic parts and valve cover and head. I cleaned everything and replace with new gaskets and parts. It started and runs perfectly as it did before the fire.
I am happy I caught the fire to put it out before it was totally destroyed. Now I have my mower back and will keep an eye on that overhead valve cover for leaks in the future.
