This part is an OEM from Amana, Speed Queen, Maytag, Crosley and Magic Chef for use with Dryers. The idler pulley maintains correct tension on the drive belt to spin the drum. This two-inch-wide idler pulley wheel is black in color and is made of plastic. The most common reasons for replacing the idler pulley are when the pulley makes noise or the drum will not turn. This pulley wheel comes with its own metallic bearing in its center. Be sure to shut off power to the dryer before beginning this repair. The tools that you will need to replace the idler pulley is a 5/16 inch nut driver and snap ring pliers.

Disassembled the front of the dryer, pulled the dryer drum, replaced the drum guide wheels the belt idler pulley and then the belt and reassembled after inspecting the felt seal it did not need to be replaced.. so I have it for next time.. the dryer runs and sounds like it was brand new.

pulled dryer out from the wall
disconnected vent
observed how to access the dryer motor and belt, labeled electrical connections and removed the door, and front panels
vacuumed up lint
loosened motor mount and turned the motor assembly while taking the belt off
removed and replaced the idler pulley, turned the motor and got the belt back on
reinstalled the hold down screws on the motor assembly
reinstalled the front panels, electrical connections, and door
reconnected dryer vent and shoved the dryer back to the wall
plugged the electrical cord in and ran a test cycle
