    Would not steer. bearing worn out

    Removed fuel tank, gear on bottom of shaft, steering wheel, slid out shaft. Reverse to install. I did put a brass bushing in the top by drilling out plastic. Used bushing that had a flange on it to keep it from falling down and out.

    Steering shaft shaft and pinion gear plus worn out upper drive belt

    Screwdriver, Pliers, Power Drill, Socket set, Wrench Set, A good jack is required plus a lug nut hammer drill .

    Drive belt pulley was the hardest . You have drop the engine pulley off the engine shaft and fan on top of the rear hydrostatic drive . Its especially essential to have a hammer drill to do that . Pre soak both both of them with wd40 . On the fan, remove battery and pull out it's box holder, seat also . Front and back pulleys need to be removed to install drive belt otherwise you can't get belt replaced . Did that also at the same time of steering shaft and pinion gear . Remove steering wheel, plus gas tank. Also under side nut .

    Removed cutting deck. Repair could be done without removing deck. R&R pinion gear and steering shaft bushing. Sounds simple and easy. It is. Cub Cadet 1050

    Lost ability to steer mower, espicially the right turn

    Removed the jam nut from end of steering shaft.
    Retracted steering wheel/shaft enough to remove hex bearing and replace. Re-assembled.
