This original Char-Broil replacement parts is designed for use with gas grills. The purpose of a heat tent is to direct grease and drippings away from the burner tubes, which cuts down on flare ups tremendously. An extra benefit of these tents is that they help to add that “cooked on a grill” flavor to your food. Tents tend to rust is the combination of heat and moisture and should be replaced if they are damaged or lost. This item is made out of steel with porcelain coating and it is sold individually.

Carryover tube rusted out

Sprayed screws holding in tube carryover doubting they would come out cleanly. Let soak a few minutes, tapped them several times gently while re spraying. Screw heads stripped out but mini ling nose vise grips backed out screws easily and cleanly.

Heat tents and carry over tubes rusted

The repair has extend the life of the grill. Replacing the heat tents was easy. Two of my original tents had completely burned away. The third one when I picked it up broke in two. The two original carry over tubes had three screws holding them in place. They were very rusted and burned. Two were removed with a screwdriver the third had to be drilled out. The installation of the new carryover tubes went better than expected and they work great. All parts fit perfectly.
