Product Description ?

This is an original part from MTD, YardMan, Troy-Bilt, Yard Machines, Ryobi and Bolens for use with Snow Blowers. The idler pulley applies tension to the belt, allowing the belt to turn. The most common reasons for replacing the idler pulley are if it makes squeaking noises or seizes up, which can cause the belt to break. This part is sold individually. The tool that you will need to replace the idler pulley is a 1/2” socket, 3/8” socket.

    My repair was very easy, only required 2 wrenches the correct size for the idler pulley, for the axle, shaft bronze bearings pulled wheels off pulled out bearings and pushed new ones in.

    The belt cover was warn out, the flat idler bearing was noisy. The flange bushing and hex flange bearing was worn out. The adapter-pully was broken.

    I disassembled the warn and broken parts and replaced them with the new parts. Everything went back together very nicely. I definitely needed to pay attention to how things came apart, so I got each part back together in the right place and the right direction.
