Questions & Answers

When I sqweed the auger handle, I heard the sqweeling of a belt, then smoke, then nothing but the auger never spun. I'm sure the belt is fried, but the question I have is what caused the problem in the first place. Can the whole mecanisum freeze? I had used it the night before with no problems. But this happened the next morning. I was stored in an unheated shed. Is there possibly another problem?
Jim for model number PR624ES asked on 2019-02-25
Hi Jim and thank you for your inquiry. Sounds like one of the pulleys that the belt rides could be seized. You will have to check all the pulleys that the belt rides on to locate which one is seized. You will have to remove the belts to do this. Also, make sure the cable that controls the movement of the mechanism is adjusted properly so everything engages and disengages fully. Make sure there is nothing jammed inside the auger housing causing this as well. Hope this helps and good luck with your diagnostics.
put a new auger belt on and machine runs fast with wheel speed no matter where gear selecter is and auger wont turn until machine moves
Dwayne for model number PP1150ENP27 asked on 2019-01-17
Hi Dwayne and thank you for your inquiry. Remove the belt cover and adjust the idler pulley till it works the way you want it. This will add or lessen tension on the belt. You may have to do this a few times to get it just right. This should solve your problem. Good luck with your repair.

Hello Dwayne, thank you for your question. This belt measurements are Length: 34-1/2" Width: 1/2". I hope this helps!
I replaced the auger belt (532408007) on my snowblower. The first two times I used it it worked fine. Now the auger won't turn as soon as it under a snow load. The belt is still loose when handle is engaged. Its almost as if the belt is too long. There are no other adjustments that I can find on my snowblower. I'm lost

Hi the blower shredded the auger belt, and I replaced it a 38 inch belt and the auger will not turn. It appears like the belt is to long, is this the correct length and if so what is the solution Don
Don Tupper for model number PP1150E27 asked on 2019-01-23
Hello Don, Thank you for your inquiry. We show as per your model number, that both of the belts are 38 inches. If you've checked both of the belts, then we recommend checking the shear bolt and nut, shear pins, auger blades, bearings, gear box and auger cable. Hope this helps!

It is a very straight forward job however the most important thing to do is line up the cam shaft to the hole in the idler pulley assembly. It lines up easily but will go together with out being lined up. If its not lines up you will burn the belt up in minutes. I originally replaced the 532429668 Control Shaft Kit but did not get the shaft into the hole on the idler. Ordered a new belt and almost burned it but realized something was wrong. Got some better lighting and put it together correctly.
