Remove 4 screws that hold on the base plate... install new base plate and tighten screws using a star-bit driver. Be sure that the screws are secured tightly, as they will tend to loosen up during use of the sander.

Thanks for the parts and terrific service. I enjoy using e-replacement parts.

My sander suddenly became hard to handle - like it had a mind of its own! I disassembled the bottom part of the sander and found out that the platen was damaged beyond repair.
There are 4 screws holding the platen and the backing plate. Begin by unscrewing the backing. There are two clamps mounted on the backing which can be reused if you are replacing your backing plate - save these for later installation. The platen comes off next. Be sure to clean all the debris or dust from the sander before installing your parts. Don't forget to order the circular seal. The installation was very easy and self explanatory once you see the inside.

Sander got dropped and bent the platten and broke the gear on the sanding pad.
Removed 4 screws from the sanding pad, then removed pad. Removed the broken platen from bearing. Took off the the paper clamps from the old platen and placed them on the new one. Installed new platen back on sander, then installed the new pad with the 4 screws.

jconnerpa

I need to replace the rubber pad on model D26441. The backing plate is good and does not need replacing. I cannot find just a rubber pad on the parts list. Can you help with this?

Hello jconnerpa,

The only way to get a new rubber pad is by ordering part number, 151284-00SV. The factory doesn't provide it any other way.
