The purpose of the the 144988-02 Foot is to attach the platen to the sander.
To replace the Foot, you will need to remove the screws from the platen.
Then you will need to separate the motor housing and slide the Feet out of the housings.
You will then be able to reverse the procedure and get sanding again.
