This is an authentic Poulan replacement part manufactured for use with trimmers. The plastic starter hub provides spacing between the starter pulley and starter coupler. The starter hub houses the hub spring that provides extra tension to turn the crankshaft when the rope is pulled. The starter hub can wear out from normal use because of the tension from the spring, the starter hub is sold individually.
