    Lots of prying
Removing the broken release handle from the vacuum cleaner took a lot of careful prying with a thin screwdriver from the top of the machine. Lighting and close viewing was critical both in removing the old part and installing the new and not destroying the vacuum or new part. A little silicon spray also helped the new part slide into place.

I took 2 flat blade screwdrivers, one on each side, and spread it apart enough to pull out the broker lever. The new one just pops back in.

Handle Release Pedal was worn and would not let handle set upright or hold that position to roll it when you are not vacuuming.

There were no instructions for replacing it, so I looked at it and evaluated how I thought it fit in there. I was able to remove the old part using a flat blade screwdriver with not much effort. The new part slipped back in place easily.
