Removed the allen bolt on the cover of the locking mechanism and installed the button/Shaft. Was not aware of the missing spring or the retainers on the feed/Lock so had to rig it a little by using non Hitachi spring and rubber shaft retainers . It works fine with the non Hitachi spring out of the base of a flashlight and small rubber grommets took the place of the rubber shaft retainer. Seems like a little more info would have saved us all a bunch of heart burn)

    1. While your nailer isn't operational, this is a good time for a through cleaning.
    2. My shaft ring on the guide lock deteriorated over usage and one day it popped off the nailer while fencing. Never to be found again.
    3. Guide Lock comes with shaft ring. So if you are missing the Guide Lock and Spring, that's all you need to order. I bought extra Shaft Rings Just incase mine ever comes off again and Guide Lock and Spring are located.
    4. Remove Shaft Ring from Guide Lock.
    5. Install Spring on Guide Lock Shaft.
    6. Install Guide Lock into position and Secure Shaft Spring.
    7. Enjoy

Wish able to post pics. Would make it easy for quick repair.
