This is a Genuine Manufacturer Approved replacement part used on some Dremel Rotary Multi-Tools. This part provides the firm grip for holding a bit in a tool. This Collet is for using bits with 1/8" arbors. Due to prolonged, heavy use a collet may need to be replaced. Collet Nut is sold separately.

    Collet lock broke. Couldn't get bits in and out.

    1. Popped the 4 screws out and took the two housing halves apart.
    2. Pulled the main mechanism out.
    3. Unscrewed the collet and lock nut out, replaced, and put it all back together.

    Remove the screws from the housing
    Remove the brush caps, then the brush springs and brushes
    Remove the collet nut
    Remove the front collar
    Remove the top housing
    Remove the wires from the old switch and remove the switch
    Install the new switch and the wires
    Screw the housings together
    Install the brushes and springs, then the caps

    My Dremel Moto tool is old and one of the ears on the collet broke off. Also the collet nut was binding a little
