Had an intermittent problem where motor would just stop, wait a few minutes and I would be able to restart it. When it ran, it ran great. When it stopped, there would be no spark at the spark plug. My engine had the ignition coil and the "igniter" as a single unit, some engines have two separate assemblies. The igniter is a small transistorized switch that functions similar to points in older engines, it controls the current in the coil primary. Replaced the assembly and so far so good. Very easy to replace the assembly, take off the pull cord recoil assembly, the screen on top of the flywheel and the top engine shroud and the coil/igniter assembly is right there in front of the motor. It's held in place with two bolts. Just make sure you maintain an air gap of 0.030 between the coil assembly and the flywheel magnets when installing the new coil. Turn the flywheel by hand a few times to make sure it doesn't rub up against the coil assembly.
