Product Description ?

This is an oil seal for various models of tillers and cultivators, designed to be installed directly onto the wheel shaft or axle of the transmission. The primary purpose of this oil seal is to prevent oil from leaking out of the tiller transmission and gear assembly while also preventing contaminants from entering the transmission, which can lead to disruptions, part wear, and reduced efficiency. If you observe visible oil leaks, excess grease, lubricant accumulation, or experience difficulty in rotating the wheels, it is likely that the oil seal has become damaged and requires replacement. This oil seal is sold individually, but it is advisable to replace both seals simultaneously, so consider ordering multiples if needed. The process of replacing this seal involves several tools and materials, including a jack, socket set, wrenches, drill, pry bar, screws, new transmission fluid or lubricant for the seal, sandpaper, and a rubber mallet or hammer. It is essential to consult the instruction manual for your specific tiller model to ensure the proper disassembly of the axle. To begin the replacement, gain access to the oil seal on the axle, which may require removing the wheels and wheel hub. Utilize a pry bar to carefully remove the old oil seal, taking care not to damage the transmission or axle. Clean the area around the seal and shaft with sandpaper to remove any grit, dirt, or debris that could lead to contamination. Lubricate the new oil seal and install it using an object with the same circumference, such as PVC pipe, to ensure it is flush and aligned within the housing. Finally, reinstall the axle assembly and any other components that were previously disconnected, including wheels and wheel hubs.

Repair shop said parts no longer available
My tiller was leaking oil on both axles due to worn seals. Took it to be fixed and shop said parts no longer available, but they could sell me a new machine. Took tiller home. While speaking to a neighbor told him of my situation. He said no problem. He pulled out his iPhone, Immediately went to Replacement Parts, found the seals, placed the order and in 2 weeks my machine was back in business like new. They even had replacement info on website so I did the job myself. Great neighbor!
