The petcock to turn gas on and off had been damaged and was leaking, so gas had been shut off. The air cleaner had also been bumped and would not seal well so I changed it as well. Tipped the generator on end to avoid gas leakage. Pulled 3 bolts out of air cleaner and removed the old one, while I had it apart, pulled the carb off and blew out the jets. Replaced the carb and put new air cleaner on. Removed the gas lines from petcock and unscrewed it from tank, screwed the new one in its place and replaced the hoses. Set the generator back down and pulled the rope a couple times and off it went.
Quick and simple!

Two generators, replaced AVR on old Generac and oil sensor on Troy Bilt. Troy took 5 minutes and Generac took about 10 minutes.

Generac, removed the cover off generator and replaced AVR. Then installed fuel valve. I stole the fuel valve the year before for my dune buggy and had to replace it. The Troy Bilt needed the oil sensor because it kept shutting off. I bypassed while waiting for the part. Installed it in less than 5 minutes. The Generac took about 10 minutes for the repair parts. I took an additional 30 minutes to clean up the carb on the Generac. It was gummed up. Done.

Had to purchase gasoline tolerant rubber fuel line from auto parts store. Put generator on blocks to have valve higher than fuel level in tank. Removed old shut off valve. assembled new shut off valve from box, had to insert filter into valve assembly. Removed old fuel line and installed new onto carburetor and shut off valve. Insert valve assembly into opening on bottom of fuel tank and tighten with wrench. Test for leaks first and then test run generator. Whole job took less than 15 minutes.

I got the proper tools required ( two wrenches and pliers ) I then placed three bricks under the generator to force the gas in the tank towards the back so there would be no leakage when removing old part. I attached lower gas line to replacement part. I loosed top bolt and removed old part and put replacement part in place and tightened it up. It works great!!!
