    Press the tabs on the top and bottom of the switch to release. Remove the wires from the old switch to the new switch one at a time and on the same terminal. Then press the new new switch back in.

    the switch acted like it was broken but turned out to be ok.

    that did'nt resolve the problem.
    will do a further troubleshooting later.

    The on an off switch was bad along with the starter cable

    The starter switch was in the front panel you would have to remove the front bar which is two bolts an then the panel screws take the switch out an reverse procedure...the battery cable is easy take your bolt out of the poss side battery cable an take the nut off the starter an reverse procedure
