Pliers, Socket set, Wrench Set, Adjustable Wrench, Multiple tools...one of the bolts would not come off.
The issue was one of the nuts would not come off the bolt. The bolt was spinning. I had to cut the plastic on the old part off of the remaining bolt and nut. Then find a thin set of lock jaw pliers to hold the bolt while removing the nut.
If this had to be repaired again it is likely going to be an issue.
Really, poor design by the manufacturer!!!!!!

Spring rewind on pull start broke

Three bolts held pull starter to engine, used nut driver to remove. The replacement part was perfect fit and used original nuts to bolt new pull starter to engine. No special instructions or experience needed.

Lawn mower starter rope suffered from slow, incomplete recoil.

The starter rope recoil was very slow and would not complete. Rather than mess with the springs inside the housing I opted to replace the entire housing. It took 5 minutes and was simply a matter of removing the 3 nuts used to secure the housing, replace with the new unit and secure back the 3 nuts. Job done!
