Honda hs520 snowblower gov arm fix:

1. Remove the cover by unscrewing 6 bolt screws, 2 have locking nuts in front. Need two nut drivers.
2. Remove snow chute, 3 bolt screws, with Phillips, and nut driver.
3. Unscrew Phillips head screw holding gas line shutoff, freeing it from the cover casing at the rear. Disconnect electrical connects by removing two wires from harness retainer, and the pulling apart.
4. Unscrew two bolt screws holding the rear cover to the frame, then remove the rear cover.
5. Using a crescent wrench, loosen the nut on compression fitting on old governer arm. Note position of semi-circular, notch on valve post, as well as depth.
6. Remove governor spring from top and bottom of old governer arm.
7. Remove old governer arm
8. Twist valve arm left and right using crescent on the semi-circular notch of valve arm post, to ensure the spring clip is still properly seated and torqued. Turn arm clockwise until stops.
9. Put new governor arm on a post, attach springs to top and bottom. Note position and depth of post as noted before removing an old one.
10. Tighten down locking nut with a crescent wrench, supporting the arm with counter tension and tighten till the arm bottom gap is almost closed.
11. Move the gov arm to the left to verify free operation.
12. Re-attach rear cover that has electrical, reconnect wires, harness, bolts.
13. Start up and verify correct idle operations.
14. Reattach the main cover, and then chute.
