Easy 15-30 minutes (3 rated repairs)?

The arm broke causing the engine to steady idle. The RPMs are supposed to fluctuate when needed to adjust power and with my part being broke it just idled.

First I removed the shroud for the unit
2. Removed tension springs on top and middle of old arm
3. Removed old arm
4. Installed new arm
5. reassemble.
Whole project took all of 8 minutes

Only catch was the two front bolts in the shroud cover have nylon nuts so you have to use a wrench to hold the nut where as the other screws just come out with a screwdriver

4. Unscrew two bolt screws holding the rear cover to the frame, then remove the rear cover.
5. Using a crescent wrench, loosen the nut on compression fitting on old governer arm. Note position of semi-circular, notch on valve post, as well as depth.
6. Remove governor spring from top and bottom of old governer arm.
7. Remove old governer arm
8. Twist valve arm left and right using crescent on the semi-circular notch of valve arm post, to ensure the spring clip is still properly seated and torqued. Turn arm clockwise until stops.
9. Put new governor arm on a post, attach springs to top and bottom. Note position and depth of post as noted before removing an old one.
10. Tighten down locking nut with a crescent wrench, supporting the arm with counter tension and tighten till the arm bottom gap is almost closed.
11. Move the gov arm to the left to verify free operation.
12. Re-attach rear cover that has electrical, reconnect wires, harness, bolts.
13. Start up and verify correct idle operations.

Removed old parts and installed the new ones in their place. Adjusting the governor arm to the shaft was a bit tricky, but online instructions helped.

All parts received for all of my orders were perfect, with the exception of the governor spring in the most recent order. I tried to use it but it was longer and much heavier duty than the original. The original was still usable so I put that back in.
