Product Description ?

It is an OEM component which is specially designed for use with Kohler faucets. This is the spacer assembly for the valve body. It contains the check valve, the spacer, and the seal. Unfortunately, over time parts tend to wear out and they may begin to fail eventually requiring replacements. To ensure the proper repair procedure, refer to the appropriate diagram for your model. You may need a screwdriver and a wrench set to disassemble and reassemble the faucet when replacing this spacer assembly.

Faucet leaks - traced to vacuum valve in spacer assembly not functioning properly

I discovered this on my last repair through trial and error. My Kohler coralais K-15160 was leaking. My research indicated the valve was a common failure item and since the leak appeared to come that part I replaced it but with no success. I ensured all seals where seated properly but still no success. On a whim I pulled the spring-loaded vacuum valve (not sure if that is the correct term) out of the spacer assembly and found a piece of sediment lodged there. removed sediment, reassembled everything and it worked fine.

Fast forward a couple months to faucet leaking again. Checked all same elements (including looking for sediment in the vacuum valve). All seemed to be in order but apparently the spring was sticking. I dislodged it and it appears to work fine.

I predict this will re-occur and at some point the the spring will fail. I bought this part to have a spare on the shelf when that happens so the fix can be immediate.
