Almost the correct part
The part I needed is no longer made. This one was close and by using portions of the broken one I got it to work. I just wish someone made the original Kohler part 79663.

Broken Kohler soap dish

Removed the top cover piece, unscrewed the shower head pole. Slid broken dish off and new dish on. Very easy, perfect fit. Screwed pole back in place and replaced the cover piece. Looks as good as new.
