This is a genuine Craftsman part for use with Craftsman Snowblowers. The Shear pin kit connects the auger to the rotating drive shaft. The shear pin is made of soft metal that purposely shears off or breaks to protect the transmission and motor if a foreign object or hard-packed snow binds the auger. The kit may include multiple parts; refer to your parts diagram for a complete list of parts included.

Hello Ralph, thank you for your question. Try to punch the broke shear pin, and starting with a very small drill then stepping up a couple in size as you make progress. We hope this helps.

1-Align auger hole with shaft hole. 2-With an awl or nail punch out the old sheared off pin. 3-Slide new shear pin though the holes in the auger and shaft bolt or re-clip retaining band.

This is a 15 year-old snow CRAFTSMAN blower, so the exact model is not now currently being produced. But, in that time I have had to replace three parts for the machine: the chute, the gas cap, and two shear pins.
