This replacement shear bolt is supplied directly from the original equipment manufacturer for use with Craftsman snowblowers. The purpose of this hardware is to protect your snowblower. If the auger gets jammed or clogged, the shear bolt is designed to snap at a certain point of pressure, that way it will not damage any other part of the unit. Shear Bolt - 710-0890A

Easy
Time Spent Repairing:

Tools Used:
Screwdriver, Socket set, Hammer
Snow blower hit a piece of broken concrete which was buried unseen under the snow and it broke the two shear bolts rendering the machine inoperable.
I removed the remaining pieces of the bolts by tapping them out with a screwdriver and hammer, lubricated the shaft, straightened out one of the augers that had a slight bend in it and proceeded to install the new shear bolts and then started the blower to make sure all was working properly, a job well done in a short period of time.

The reprair sleeves needed to be adjusted to fit my model
I used a hacksaw to make a cut a horizontal line to split the sleeve about 035 in width. The sleeves fit perfectly after and were ready for installation. We are good to go now.
