Get some saw horses and put a piece of sheeting (plywood, siding, etc.) across them to make a work bench and place the snowblower on top of it. This avoids having to bend down and having shadows by trying to work on it while it sits on the ground. All the scoop, vanes and rotor blades are black, so it is hard to see.

There are a series of machine bolts that hold each flap on. Remove them. Remove flapper and replace. Assemble back together making sure to torque the machine bolts tight but not excessive. Repeat for the other side. DO WATCH OUT for KICKBACK of the rotor blade drum.

Next was the nylon? scraper. The old one was so worn that there was no longer a piece of metal bar to add extra support underneath. I went to our hardware store and purchased a 4 foot x 1/8 thick by 1/2 wide steel bar and cut it to length to fit into the scraper. I secured it to the scraper and drilled holes corresponding with the holes in the scraper and in the scoop of the snowblower BEFORE I put it on. This bar helps insure that the scraper will NOT come into contact with the flappers.

It works SOOOO MUCH BETTER with new rotor blades (flappers) and the proper scraper.
