This replacement push-rod is a genuine manufacturer supplied item that is specially designed for Briggs and Stratton engines. The push rod rides on the camshaft to push the exhaust valve open during the exhaust stroke. A bent push rod can seriously affect your engine's performance and it damage the engine if the problem is not taken care of immediately. This part is made out from durable aluminum and it is sold individually.

    Removed valve cover, replaced push rod, adjusted valves, replaced cover.

    A frozen exhaust valve caused the push rod to bend which also caused the intake push rod to bend.

    Screwdriver, Pliers, Power Drill, Socket set, Wrench Set, Nutdriver, Allen wrenches

    Performed compression test to find the affected cylinder to have no compression. Removed the valve cover to find bent push rods and frozen exhaust valve. Removed cylinder head, removed valve retainers, tapped out frozen exhaust valve with brass hammer. Cleaned everything up, freed up valve in guide, lapped valves, lubricated and re assembled valves in head. Replaced head on engine. Started up, ran fine. Performed compression check to find repaired cylinder to have 130 psi. All good in paradise!!!!

    Valve guide worked up from over heating crushing valve seal bending push rod

    Removed cylinder head. Pushed valve guide back down in head, replaced bent push rod and added new valve seals. Replaced cylinder head and reinstalled engine into riding mower.
