I have not been able to release the PREFILTER from the Pivot hand VAC. I tried pressing on the release button and my conclusion is that it may be stuck? Advise please.

Hello Peter, thank you for your question. There is a release button beside the Black & Decker logo. Push and hold the button while pushing the nozzle down. The canister will pop off allowing you to pull the filters out. If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. Removed the outer bowl and placed the new pre filter in the new bowl and attached to vacuum. Wall-a, it was like new again.
