Product Description ?

This genuine OEM sourced replacement part is designed for Milwaukee multi-tools. The motor assembly is the main component which drives the transmission. If you notice smoke or sparks coming from the vents on the back of the motor, you've probably overloaded your motor at some point, which caused the insulation to break down. This high-quality assembly is sold individually. A screwdriver will be needed to perform this repair. Make sure to refer to the appropriate diagrams for your model to ensure the proper replacement procedure.

Easy repair if you can solder
This is the 2nd motor I've replaced. Doing it myself saved me almost $100. You do need to invest in a soldering iron and flux but you can do it yourself. eReplacementParts has all the parts you need to fix your own tools.

Place the unit on a surface that can be cleaned, or use a newspaper, as there is grease and dirt inside the unit.
1- Remove outer shell (different screw sizes are noted. Keep track)
2- Separate the motor, head and other components from unit (different screws are noted).
3- Disconnect the two wires leading to motor (Cut the wires very close to the motor, as the wires are very short. SOLDERING IS REQUIRED, afterwards)

    5- Place back in shell
    6- DONE
(I rate this as medium repair, but for some, it could be hard)
