Remove the bolts from the old housing. Remove and then replace with the new housing.

Housing was loose(the rivets were worn) also the starter-rewind had ceased up

All I had to do was replace the housing and replace the starter -rewind and everything was good to go. My bob-cat mower is over 25 years old and I was happy that I did not have to buy a new mower.

Recoil starter was broken, bolt holes that hold housing on wore out, this is on a wood splitter

Attached new recoil starter assembly to new housing , attached new housing to engine.This is an old wood splitter . Vibration over the years is what did the damage. Repair however is easy.
